Mr. Roh, the President of the Republic of Korea, visited Hanmi Semiconductor last January 20th, right before the Lunar New Year holidays, to take a look around the plant and encourage the employees and staff members of the company. His visit to the company which was arranged as one of the activities for him to practice his major policy of the new year, "Support the Economy", was a reference case of his planned visit to one of the most competitive small & medium-sized companies and was guided by Mr. NK Kwak, the CEO of the company, in a favorable manner all the way. President Roh expressed a great interest in the hi-tech semiconductor manufacturing process and technologies applauding the world-best technical competitiveness of the company while he was visiting all the facility. President Roh heard afterwards about the ideas and recommendations based on their own field experiences over luncheon at the cafeteria with all of the staff members and promised that the government would seek for an effective resolution to support the superior small & medium-sized companies. "Hanmi Semiductor has made a good example that the small & medium-sized companies could still go for the world-best in their own fields of business", said President Roh and also expressed, "After looking around your company, I have came to have my own confidence in the supporting program for the small & medium-sized companies that the government is pushing through", exposing his determination to assist the leading small & medium-sized companies ever more. A great number of the government officers including Mr. Ahn, Sangsoo, the Mayor of Incheon City, Mr. Lee, Heebum, the Minister of Industries and Resources and Mr. Yoo, Changmoo, the Head of the Office for Small & Medium-sized companies attended the event in the hot pursuit of the Press.
