HANMI Semiconductor made
257.4 billion won in
sales and 66.6 billion
won in profits last year.
This year, we're offering
308 billion won, up 20%
from the previous year.
"In the first half of
this year, 'NK Kwak Hall'
will be expanded and
orders will be actively
responded to."
TSMC Investment
Beneficiary "Expect to
exceed target
performance"
"Orders for semiconductor
equipment are pouring in.
We're experiencing an
unprecedented
supercycle."
Kim Min-hyun, president
of HANMI Semiconductor,
said on the 1st, " Orders
for semiconductor
equipment have been
increasing since second
half of last year. This
year, all factories are
in full operation," he
said. "We plan to
complete the expansion of
NK Kwak Hall in the first
half of this year to cope
with increase in orders.
Recruitment is also
continuously underway. If
this trend continues, we
will exceed our annual
target performance."
HANMI Semiconductor,
founded by Chairman Kwak
No-kwon in 1980, is said
to have raised Korea's
semiconductor equipment
technology to a global
level by localizing
semiconductor equipment,
which was barren at the
time. HANMI Semiconductor
is currently dealing with
about 300 companies
worldwide. In particular,
'Vision Placement'
equipment has been ranked
No. 1 in market share
since 2004. In addition,
it has a variety of
semiconductor equipment
such as 'EMI Shield',
'TC Bonder', and 'Flip
Chip Bonder'.
HANMI Semiconductor
recorded its highest
performance last year,
which is the 40th
anniversary of its
foundation. First of all,
sales more than doubled
from 120.4 billion won
last year to 257.4
billion won. During the
same period, operating
profit increased 385.6%
from 13.7 billion won to
66.6 billion won. It has
recorded its biggest
performance since its
foundation in all sectors
such as sales and
operating profit. Rarely
seen in manufacturing,
the profit margin reaches
26%.
“It is true that the
sudden ‘Corona
Pandemic’ caused an
uneasy start, but the
crisis was rather a
turning point.
Fortunately, demand for
semiconductors increased
in 5G, self-driving cars,
smartphones, data
centers, and Bitcoin, and
sales of Vision Placement
and EMI Shield equipment
were also strong."
President Kim said.
HANMI Semiconductor paid
10 billion won worth of
bonuses to all its
executives and employees
in line with its record-
high performance last
year.
HANMI Semiconductor is
planning to continue its
biggest performance this
year. This year's sales
target is 308 billion
won, up 20% from last
year. “HANMI
Semiconductor is a major
beneficiary of Taiwan's
TSMC. OSAT such as ASE,
Amkor, SPIL, JCET and
TSHT are our main
customers. Exports of
equipment will be more
active than ever due to
the falling effect of the
forward industries.”
President Kim Min-hyun
said.
In fact, TSMC announced
that it will make
investments in facilities
worth 30 trillion won,
power chips worth 10.4
trillion won, and UMC
worth 1.1 trillion won.
Semiconductor foundry
companies have decided to
make aggressive
investments this year.
"This year, demand for
semiconductors will be
higher than ever, along
with the spread of non-
face-to-face trends,
including the recent
issue of supply shortage
of semiconductors for
automobiles. We have the
world's No. 1 equipment
products such as Vision
Placement and EMI Shield.
We will be able to
achieve more than 308
billion won in sales this
year.” President Kim
Min-hyun said.
"It is predicted that
supercycle of
semiconductors will
continue until next
year." he said. "However,
we will continue to make
efforts to secure
differentiated
competitiveness with R&D
investment."
